Getting Started: Essential Tips

Before anything, complete the tutorial. This game is very different from the original Yugioh tcg, thus you should take advantage of the tutorial which explains the unique rules of Yugioh bam.

By chapter 3 the tutorial ends and the deck editor is finally unlocked, however the tutorial leaves a few critical things out:

First of all is currencies. Cards are only buyable with one type of currency. There are three types-

Bam Legend, mirror force in shop sale
(note: MF is not a good bam)

• Duel Points (aka dp, gold color) - Your limited currency. Do not spend this currency until you are more familiar with the game. You need to pay to get more of this currency (although you can gradually get more throughout the game, dp is still limited unless you have cash to spare). 

• Play the game for at least a few hours, and if you decide you want to master Yugioh bam, your best bet is saving your dp for good bam legends(highest rarity) on sale in the shop (as shown on the right) [refer w/ hyperlink]. 

• If you decide you are just playing casually, and don't want to commit fully to the game, you can save to 30dp and buy the Root of Evil booster battle[refer w/ hyperlink].
• Never spend dp on energy or anything else besides dp cards or packs.

• Card Points (aka cp, blue color) - Not too important. You can get some decent cp cards to help your story mode deck if you really want to spend it. Its not necessary though, as coin cards are usually more practical to buy. Other than cards, cp can buy the small power-ups that are useful later in the game. But don't be too concerned with this currency early on. Save your cp till you become more familiar with the game, it will help later on.
• Coins (silver color) - The main currency at the start. All cards sell[refer w/ hyperlink] for coins. You should make all your purchases with coins during the start of the game. You can actually finish the whole story mode with only coin cards. [refer w/ link]
